NewsDONATIONS If you'd like to make a donation, please email info@mothersflyingsolo.org. The donation page is currently under construction. July 10, 2011 I am so happy I finally have time to update the website! A lot has been happening with Mothers Flying Solo and I'm just getting around to writing about it. Over the last three years, we have been able to sponsor three more single mothers and their families! With the help of friends, family, and generous donations we raised enough money to give back to those who need help. In 2009 we sponsored a single mom, Shaquinta, and her two baby boys. In 2010/2011 we were able to help two single mothers, Shamir and Jenny. All three mothers attended or are still attending St. Anne's Bogen Family Center. They are are hardworking, dedicated mothers who want to give their children a healthy and caring environment. The love they have for their children is inspirational and it was an honor to sponsor them! August 3, 2009 "I would like to announce that Mothers Flying Solo just recently held a garage sale to raise money to support a mother and her children. We had amazing support and had a tremendous outcome. We ended up finishing the sale with a profit of 600 dollars. The money helped contribute to a single mom and her two boys that we chose to help from St. Anne’s. We are currently in the process of buying all of the family’s needs. We will update you once we have finished helping this current family and hopefully another family later this year. Thanks again to all of you who continue to support my nonprofit organization!" June 20, 2008 Family and Friends, I am excited to say that all of your donations have gone to great use! We have sponsored a 19 year old mother, Tiffany, and her 12-month old son Tyrell. Tiffany is hard-working single mother who wants to become an elementary teacher and raise money to make a healthy living for her and her son. She was a job working at an Indian restaurant and plans to attend school. She is currently living in an apartment and is trying her hardest to brighten her son's future. We chose Tiffany to sponsor because as she stated in her application "The most importnat factor is my child. If my child weren't here, who knows what or where I would be or doing." This proved that she doesn't want this for herself, but for Tyrell. See wants to begin a new chapter of her life and teach her son to be responsible and caring. Over the last couple of days my father and I have spent $1,000 buying Tiffany and Tyrell many supplies. Along with the basics of food, clothes, and hygiene products we were also able to buy them a toddler bed, which is accompanied by a matress, pillows, sheets, and a comforter. All these items will be delivered to Tiffany so she can begin her new and improved life with Tyrell. October 30, 2007 Mothers Flying Solo's first fundraiser was held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 and took place in my backyard. We hosted a barbecue in which our friends and family came and we gratefully raised over sixteen hundred dollars. |
